Cardarine - Results, Benefits, Side Effects and Dosage
Overview of Cardarine
Cardarine is one of the best SARM for cutting if you’re purely looking to decrease your body fat percentage and increase cardiovascular endurance.
Ostarine is known as the “fat loss” SARM, although it is good for keeping and increasing muscle during a cut, Cardarine is far more superior at burning fat and beneficial for people trying to lose weight.
Cardarine is commonly used as a performance enhancer in sports that are endurance based, for example, long-distance running, football, cycling, and boxing.
A famous boxer called Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller was set to fight Anthony Joshua for the WBA, WBF and IBF heavyweight title at Madison square garden until Jarrell tested positive for Cardarine and the flight was canceled.
The performance enhancer was banned in 2009 after the use of the drug came apparent in the 2008 Olympics after athletes failed drug tests.
What Is Cardarine?
Cardarine is technically not a SARM, it is a PPAR-delta activator, however, it has very similar properties to selective androgen receptor modulators and is why GW-501516 is commonly labeled and sold under SARMs.
The PPAR-activator was first developed in the 1990s by a company named Glaxo Smith Kline. It was initially created to treat and inhibit the formation of tumors.
Studies were conducted on the compound and it was soon discovered that it had endurance and fat loss benefits.
How Does GW-501516 Work?
Cardarine activates PPAR-deltas which consequently increases the use of fat stores for energy when exercising, body fat percentage will start to decrease in correlation, and therefore you can dramatically increase your ability to lose fat with this compound.
Cardarine also has a positive effect on cholesterol in the body. The compound increases the level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL or good cholesterol) and decreases the amount of low-density lipoprotein ( LDL or bad cholesterol)
Receptors also increase the uptake of glycogen and amino acids into the muscle because of increased insulin sensitivity.
- Increased fat loss
An increase in fat loss is a given with cardarine, it boosts metabolic rate and increases the oxidization of fat stores for energy, which makes it the best SARM for cutting.
GW-501516 doesn’t interact with testosterone or estrogen levels, meaning you don’t have to worry about gynecomastia, hair loss or any adverse side effects.
3. Increased cardiovascular endurance
Increased muscular & cardiovascular endurance is enhanced significantly.
4. Improves muscle recovery
Cardarine can increase recovery short and long term, between sets you will find you don’t need as long as rest as normal. Between workouts, the compound helps to re-build muscle fibers and decreases the amount of rest needed before you can train again.
5. Anti-inflammatory effects
Many users have reported that their joints and tendons felt significantly better after workouts compared to before they started taking Cardarine. This is especially beneficial for runners as a constant impact on hard terrain can damage joints in the long term.
What are the main side effects of Cardarine?
Due to the performance enhancer being non-toxic, it does not harm the liver or other major organs.
As well as being non-toxic, GW-501516 is also known- estrogenic as we mentioned earlier, essentially meaning you won't be experiencing testosterone suppression or any other unwanted side effects such as increased blood pressure and heart problems.
A common belief (misconception) about Cardarine is that it causes cancer, however, a lot of this is speculative and is not backed by scientific data on human studies.
One study commonly brought up was one study conducted on mice, where it caused cancer in some of the rats.
However, these rats were given insanely high dosages which would equate to five times the recommended max human daily dosage.
As well as this the rodents were given the compound for 2 years (approximately 104 weeks), which is 13 times the amount of time a human is recommended to take the drug for (6-8 weeks MAX).
So, in general, we would say the compound is safe giving little to no side effects.
It is not essential to run a post cycle therapy with Cardarine, because as mentioned earlier it does not cause testosterone suppression, is non-toxic and does not convert to estrogen.
It is recommended that you take 5-10mg daily if you’re new to SARMs, however, if you have the experience you can increase this dosage to 10-20mg.
If you’re going to take a high dosage of 20mg you should slowly increase it weekly to try and limit adverse effects.
The compound has a long half-life of 24 hours so it only needs to be taken once a day, although you should try and stick to set the time you take it each day for optimal results.
In terms of cycle length, it is recommended to run Cardarine for no longer than 6-8 weeks to be on the safe side and you should only experiment with a longer cycle if you have experience with Cardarine and SARMs in general.
What is the best stack for Cardarine?
The best stack for the compound depends on your goal.
If you’re trying to lose weight/fat or body recomposition we would recommend running Ostarine as well as it's great for preserving/increasing muscle even when in a caloric deficit.
If you are looking to gain lean muscle mass and increase strength whilst losing fat we would recommend running RAD-140 or LGD-4033 as well, as their powerful anabolic properties will be sure to provide lean gains.
The ultimate Cardarine fat loss stack would include S4, Ostarine, and GW-501516.
